What Is HubSpot?

HubSpot is an AI-powered customer relationship management platform. As a CRM, it helps businesses automate tasks and centralize tools in one database. And, it’s free!

With a variety of software, integrations, and resources, you can easily connect your marketing, sales, and customer service. HubSpot offers ease of use, cost-effectiveness, and features designed to help your business grow.

Benefits of Displaying HubSpot Dashboards in Your Office

Take the step forward to empower your team with onscreen analytics in your office spaces. Quick access to important data is crucial to growing your business. With dashboards, you can easily combine multiple reports in one central display.

Viewing these dashboards helps teams quickly analyze data. This allows them to make informed decisions based on real-time insights. No need to spend time waiting for an analyst to provide you with reports.

Not only that, dashboards enable teams across different departments to monitor progress towards shared goals. Identifying areas of improvement can strengthen the collaboration. Leadership can also more quickly pinpoint bottlenecks. Maybe sales processes are slowing down or marketing efforts and campaigns are underperforming.

With OptiSigns and HubSpot, you can transform how your business and internal teams work. Pull essential metrics, track KPIs, and provide visual goals on your screen in a few simple steps.

How To Display HubSpot on Your Screens Using The Web Scripting App

To display HubSpot on your screens, you’ll need to set it up using the OptiSigns web scripting app. This lets you automate navigation and form entries without the need for coding. Forget having to log in every single time!

Three steps exist to start displaying your dashboard on digital signage displays with OptiSigns:

  1. Install Burp Suite Navigation Recorder
  2. Record Your Script
  3. (Optional) Set Up Two-Factor Authentication
  4. Create and Push Your Web Scripting App

Once finished, OptiSigns will display your dashboard for everyone to see without requiring you to log in each time! Below, we’ll walk you through each step in more detail.

IMPORTANT: In order to display your HubSpot dashboards through OptiSigns, your account must be set up using the classic login with email/username and password. If you use "Sign in with Google" to login, our scripting process does not currently support this.

Install Burp Suite Navigation Recorder

Open Chrome, then go to the Chrome Web Store and search for “Burp Suite Navigation Recorder”. Click “Add to Chrome" to gain access to the extension.

Once added, open the extension’s settings, enable “Allow in Incognito,” and close the tab.

(Optional) Set Up Two-Factor Authentication in HubSpot

In your HubSpot account, navigate to your "Profile & Preferences" and open the "Security" panel. Scroll down to the "Two-factor authentication (2FA)" section. You'll need to click "Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)".

HubSpot will ask you how you would like to secure your account. For this guide, select "Authenticator app".

HubSpot will display a QR code. Do not immediately scan it. There will be an alphanumeric code displayed below the QR code. You need to copy this code and save it somewhere safe, like the notepad app.

Then, scan the QR code with your authenticator app or input the setup code in the app, then click Next. HubSpot should now be added to your authenticator app and a 6-digit verification code should appear. Type this code into HubSpot to verify your app.

HubSpot will also provide you with a list of one-time use backup verification codes. It is recommended to download or print these out, just in case you ever lose your device.

You have now successfully set up 2FA on your device!

Record The Web Script

Recording the web script for your dashboard involves inputting three essential pieces of information:

  1. A direct URL to the dashboard you wish to display
  2. Your login username
  3. Your login password

NOTE: Your password will not be displayed on screen as you type it out.
First, copy the URL of your dashboard web page and have it waiting in your clipboard.

Next, open the Burp Suite Navigation Recorder extension from your extension manager, and click “Start Recording”. This will open an incognito window.

When the window opens, paste the URL to your HubSpot dashboard in the address bar at the top. Fill out your login information, making sure you enter it carefully and correctly. If you mess up, you will need to restart the recording process.

TIP: Always use the mouse for clicks and avoid corrections during entry.

Once you log in and the dashboard displays, either close the window or open the Burp Suite extension and click “Stop Recording.”

Burp Suite will automatically copy the script to your clipboard once you close the incognito window. However, you can also open the extension and select “Copy to Clipboard” if you lose your script. Please note, if you create another recording or shut down your computer, your script will be overwritten or lost.

Create a Web Scripting Asset in OptiSigns

With the recording script in your clipboard, log in to your OptiSigns account and open the Files/Assets page to create your asset. Click on "Apps" and search for the “Web Scripting” app within our list of 160+ app integrations. Open this app and you will see this:

Give your asset a name within OptiSigns so that you can easily find it within your account. Then, paste the script that is waiting in your clipboard into the “Recorded Script” box.

If you set up 2FA, copy the 32-character setup key that you saved during the QR code setup process. You will paste this code in the “Secret 2FA” section. Then, paste the 6-digit code from your authenticator app that you used during the scripting process into the “Recorded 2FA Code” box. Also, reduce the “Delay Execute 2FA JavaScript” to 1 or 2 seconds to ensure the scripting process properly pulls a new 2FA code when pushing to your screen.

TIP: If your device is having scaling issues, such as your dashboard displaying zoomed in, please go to your device settings and change the display size to "smallest". You can follow these steps if you have the latest OptiSigns 3rd Generation Android Player.

Finally, after you click save, you can push your dashboard to your screens in your office, breakrooms, hallways, and more!
